Race Info
Ride for Epilepsy will be held at Calder Park Raceway on Sunday 16th September 2011.
Race starts at 8AM and concludes 2PM.
Registrations will be taken online until Friday 14 th September at 6pm.
Each rider will be given a timing transponder to be used for the duration of their ride, which will count laps, time, speed and distance throughout the event.
HOW FAR CAN YOU RIDE IN 6 HOURS?
Riders can compete against their age group and for overall line honours. There will be special awards for fastest individual lap, fastest team lap, fastest lap in all age categories, most distance covered in all categories including a special teams award.
Each rider is timed individually and exact distance will be recorded. Fastest lap times, fastest teams and greatest distance covered will be continuously updated and displayed on a large screen at the start finish area.
Age Categories
Official age categories for both men and women are: Under 16, 16-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-65, 65 +
Timing
This is a unique event in that it will be more about distance covered than actual time.
After 2.00 pm you can sit in comfort in the main grandstand and watch the registered racing cyclists do their thing with races for all ages and abilities.
